The Denyce Graves Benefit for the
Duke Ellington School of the Arts
The Ellington Fund and the Duke Ellington
School of the Arts presented "Sophisticated Lady: An Evening
with Denyce Graves" at The John F. Kennedy Center for the
Performing Arts. The concert and VIP reception benefited the
Duke Ellington School of the Arts, a public arts high school
in the District of Columbia.

the Performing Arts, Denyce Graves, world renown singer and
advisory board member of the Duke Ellington School, Bob
Madigan of WTOP, and Peggy Cooper Cafrtiz, founder of the
Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts.
The Board of Directors of the Ellington Fund hosted a
"Springtime Salute to Ellington" to benefit the Duke
Ellington School of the Arts. The cocktail reception/silent
auction took place at the historic Halcyon House and was
held in honor of Sidney and Barbara Dickstein for their many
years of support. The guests were entertained by the
talented young men and women of the Ellington School. Event
